School
Programs

"It changed the culture of the school. Kids developed real friendships with kids they might not have talked to before. It absolutely inspired me."
Amanda Herman

What
children know about disabilities – and their tendency to befriend
or bully those who have them – isn’t measured on any
standardized test.
But we have seen the evidence after more than 25 years: disability
awareness is a vital part of their education.
The Institute’s school programs demystify a range of physical,
sensory and developmental disabilities. Students develop esteem
for others as they learn, gaining the assurance to reach out to
their peers.
